What is Groin Pain Syndrome?

Pain that occurs in the groin area — the inner thigh root. It is particularly common among soccer players, and when prolonged, can seriously affect competitive careers.

Do you have these symptoms?

  • Pain shoots through the groin or adductor when kicking
  • Hip / groin pain when getting up in the morning
  • Painful at the start of running but eases as you warm up
  • Pain worsens after practice
  • Chronic pain on one or both sides of the groin
  • Orthopedist found nothing on X-rays
  • Recurs even after rest

Why it is difficult to recover

  • Because the cause is not "one single point"
  • The root is in whole-body coordination
    (pelvis, hip, core, ankle)
  • Local treatment alone leads to recurrence
  • Mere "rest" does not solve the root cause
  • Even surgery sometimes fails to prevent recurrence

→ That is why "whole-body care" is essential.

Our Groin Pain Treatment

An approach to address the root cause, established through 16+ years of clinical experience and treatment of J-League athletes.

STEP 1

Whole-body posture & movement analysis

Beyond the painful area, we carefully assess pelvic tilt, hip range of motion, core stability, and ankle mobility. Identifying where the root cause lies is the first step toward recovery.

STEP 2

Pelvis & hip alignment

We address pelvic distortion and restricted hip movement, balancing the adductors, iliopsoas, and abdominal muscles to remove excessive load on the groin.

STEP 3

Restoring core stability

An unstable core places extra stress on the pelvis and groin during kicking and running. We restore inner-muscle function to build a body resistant to recurrence.

STEP 4

Return to play & performance gain

Beyond eliminating pain, we aim for a body that is "less injury-prone and moves better." Many athletes report performance improvements as a result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I keep playing soccer while attending sessions?

A. Yes. We design treatment plans around your practice and match schedule. Requests like "in time for the next match" are very welcome.

Q. How many sessions are needed to feel better?

A. It depends on severity and how long the symptoms have lasted. Mild cases may improve significantly in a few sessions; chronic cases require ongoing care. After the first session we provide a rough estimate.

Q. Can young athletes be treated?

A. Yes. Many junior-high and high-school soccer players visit us. Minors should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q. My orthopedist found "no abnormality" — can I still come?

A. Yes — in fact those are exactly the cases we specialize in. Often a "functional issue" not visible on X-rays is the cause, and our whole-body assessment can identify it.

Q. Do you treat sports other than soccer?

A. Yes. Groin pain occurs in many sports that involve hip use — ice hockey, track & field, martial arts, and more. Athletes from any sport are welcome.
